The girls in my class remind me a LOT of these Powerpuff girls. They are NOT normal. |
"Mr Black," they exclaimed, "we've written an acrostic poem about homework!"
"Oh yeah," I replied. "But surely you mean, 'Home Learning', ladies? For we do not have homework anymore in 4RB."
The girls beamed with pride and proceeded to shout in unison.

Clever girls.
They DO make funny animal noises at me quite a lot when I'm on morning duty, but they're adorable.
What a cracking acrostic that sums up how they felt about homework.
Now I've been a bit flat chat lately and I didn't think to ask the ladies to write an acrostic about Home Learning. Fortunately, these girls were able to come up with this plan all by themselves.
The next morning, after a few horse neighs and a few ear-piercing warbles of some variety, the girls decided to present to me their next acrostic. Home Learning. Presented with equal gusto.

Clever, clever girls.
There's more for me to share about Home Learning. I have a tale to tell. Sadly, tonight... this month... hasn't been the time to tell it. Never fear. The time is coming for me to shake the walls a little bit with a presentation about Home Learning. The details, the research, the trial with my class, the diaries, the feedback from parents and students, the actions, THE STORY of why I'm never going back is coming.
For now, enjoy the words of two 10yr old girls who now know the huge difference between 'work' and 'learning' first-hand.
... and Learning.... is as fun as fighting evil, mirror-doppelgangers! |
Peace.
